What you’ll learn
- Transportation Problem: We discuss the real-world applications of the transportation problem. We then introduce the mathematical modeling of the problem. The simplex method is used to solve this problem. Several examples are provided to illustrate the problem and its solution method.
- Shortest Path Problem: You study the shortest path problem and its various types. We present the corresponding solution methods for each type. The topic is further explained through the solution of multiple examples.
- Minimim Spanning Tree Problem: We cover the minimum spanning tree problem. We analyze the real-world applications of this problem and provide a solution algorithm. Various examples are solved to demonstrate the solution methods.
- Minimum Cost Flow Problem: We introduce the general form of the minimum cost flow problem, which is an optimization problem in network settings. We present the mathematical formulation of this problem and obtain the optimal solution using the simplex method. Multiple examples are solved to facilitate learning.
